 Windows 2000 cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupted

"Windows 2000 cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupted winnt/system32/config/systemced"

When solving this issue on Windows 2000 no need to re-format or re-install the whole OS
1. use any live CD to boot the system
2. using Command Prompt > goto C:\winnt\system32\config\
3. delete SYSTEM or
4. copy system.alt c:\winnt\system32\config\system
5. reboot your computer this will save you from re-installing OS and its applications
